Why Pursue MLM?
The terms MLM, multi-level marketing, networking marketing, etc., will almost always evoke a passionate reaction from anyone who knows business. Perhaps the person has had experience with MLM in the past or simply just heard of one of the many MLM companies that are out there. If you have ever been the person who started the converstation on MLM you most likely were asked something along the lines of “Why did you go and get involved in one of those things?”
So why did you? Why would anybody go and get involved in one of those things?
I’m glad you asked. Let me approach this as if I’m telling someone who maybe would like to become involved in MLM but can’t really find the why. And if you are already in and you know this stuff, I’ll just remind you.
Many of us do not have jobs that we absolutely love. If we were offered the chance, we would probably quit right now except for the minor detail of not getting paid anymore. But what if you decided to quit your job and for the rest of your life your boss forgot that you quit and he kept paying you? Essentially, that is what can happen in network marketing. No one wants to be at a desk their whole career. We want to get out there and make things happen while doing what we want to do, not what our boss tells us to do.
MLM can be extremely lucrative if you are serious about it and in it for the long haul. I’m probably not the only one out there who thinks that there are too many other worries in life and that money should not be one of them. Will it buy happiness? Probably not, but we all want to experience it for ourselves just to make sure.
Maybe a little less apparent is the personal growth you will experience in multi-level marketing. As in all businesses, there are frustrations and setbacks, but no one ever achieved greatness by isolating himself/herself in their corner cubicle while avoiding as many people as possible. We all tend to stress over the setbacks, but I look at it this way: that person who’s making a lot more money that I am has probably also experienced a lot more grief than I have, but look at where they are now!
So why do we pursue MLM? You may have your own reasons, but personal and financial freedom, along with growth potential, are right up there at the top of my list.
